Damian Lillard

While Damian Lillard hasn’t officially requested a trade, there have been some rumors that it could come soon. If that happens, the team to keep an eye on will be the New York Knicks. New York is the betting favorite to land Lillard and with good reason.

The Knicks are desperate for another start to align with Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Barrett will likely be asked for by Portland in any return package, but if the Knicks can hold onto him they would certainly have a strong foundation to build upon.

New York is also desperate for an upgrade at the point guard position. It has been a hole on the roster for years and Damian Lillard would finally provide them elite-level production. Acquiring him and re-signing Derrick Rose would give the Knicks a great trio with those two and Immanuel Quickley.

While Damian Lillard isn’t regarded as the best defender, Tom Thibodeau has worked wonders with his schemes and would figure out a way for it to come together. Offensively, he would have one of the most explosive players in the league at his disposal.

Damian Lillard is as dynamic as anyone in the NBA with the ball in his hands. He would fix a lot of the team’s issues offensively, as his unlimited range would open things up for the rest of his teammates to succeed.
