Kristaps Porzingis
The Dallas Mavericks were on top of the world when they acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the New York Knicks. People thought they badly swindled New York, getting a legitimate franchise cornerstone as part of a salary dump so the Knicks could have future cap space and two first-round picks.
Today, that deal doesn’t look nearly as one-sided as originally believed. New York is in a great position to be aggressive and upgrade their roster this summer while Dallas is looking to move on from Porzingis.
The trade interest in Kristaps Porzingis is reportedly minimal right now, but there are some teams that he would help. The Charlotte Hornets would be the top landing spot for him.
Charlotte needs a center this offseason, but they could switch someone such as P.J. Washington to the center spot if they acquired someone like Porzingis. Porzinigs prefers to play power forward more than center, so a move like that would appease him.

Kristaps Porzingis is also reportedly upset with his role on the Mavericks, feeling more like an afterthought than a 1B to Luka Doncic’s 1A. In Charlotte, he could assume a top-scoring option role he was flourishing in with the Knicks before injuring his ACL.
There are red flags when it comes to the Unicorn, so the Hornets should be able to acquire him without needing a huge trade package. Building a package around their own injury-prone forward, Gordon Hayward could be enough to get the wheels moving on a trade.
