New York Knicks Receive: G Collin Sexton
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: F Kevin Knox, No. 19 Pick, No. 32 Pick
When looking at Collin Sexton’s stats in his career, this looks like an underwhelming package for the Cleveland Cavaliers to be receiving in exchange for him. But, when taking a deeper dive, they would be happy with his package.
If the Cavaliers aren’t willing to meet Sexton at the price he is seeking, and the rest of the NBA knows that they are going to be hard-pressed to receive much in terms of a return package. Teams won’t break the bank knowing he could be available next offseason in free agency.
So, Cleveland makes the most of the deal and takes what the New York Knicks will give them. Kevin Knox III has some potential but won’t realize it in New York, where he is buried on the bench. He did make strides as a shooter during the 2020-21 season but has a ways to go defensively, which Tom Thibodeau will not tolerate.
At only 21-years old, Knox still has plenty of time to unlock the potential that led to him being the No. 9 overall selection in 2018.

The No. 19 overall pick is a solid value as it will give Cleveland another shot at adding a young building block to the roster. The No 32 overall pick could do the same, as this is considered a deep draft class.
Will either of those selections or Knox turn into a 24.3 points per game scorer like Sexton? You never know, but Cleveland sounds like they would be willing to take that risk.
