Does this trade make sense for the Miami Heat?
The point-guard position is the most important in today’s NBA. The Heat are set up well in other areas but do not have that solid piece at the top of the offense. Westbrook is a name that has been linked to the Heat for weeks now. It would be interesting to see this deal made.
Miami is viewed as a win-now team in the Eastern Conference. They made a run to the NBA Finals a year ago in the bubble but did not have the same success this season.
They were swept out of the first round by the Milwaukee Bucks. To avoid this moving forward, they can add a winning player like Westbrook. He gets a lot of grief for his style of play but Westbrook has been part of postseason teams in the past and has great experience.
Westbrook would certainly put the Heat in a better position moving forward. There is a clear need for more starpower and he would certainly bring that in full force.

This deal is not extremely expensive for Miami, which is another benefit. If this deal comes across the desks in the front office, it would be difficult not to pull the trigger.
