Miami Heat Receive: G Russell Westbrook
Washington Wizards Receive: G Goran Dragic, F Andre Igoudala, F Precious Achiuwa, 2025 first-round pick
Russell Westbrook has been moved frequently over the years. He was able to create a strong backcourt with Bradley Beal that led the Washington Wizards to the eighth seed in the postseason this year.
Regardless of their playoff appearance, this is not a long-term plan for success in D.C. This could lead to a legitimate tear down of the roster, especially if Bradley Beal were to decide to request a trade to land with a new franchise.
The Wizards might not have a ton of leverage in a deal such as this one. Dragic and Andre Igoudala would be the veteran names going back to the Wizards here.

The return the Wizards would receive are short-term pieces that will not handcuff the franchise moving forward. That’s entirely the goal since both Dragic and Iguodala each have team options for 2021-22 and would be used as expiring deals to clear future cap space.
Precious Achiuwa and a first-round pick in 2025 would be the focal point of the deal. He has shown some intriguing flashes of potential and would receive a role far greater than what he has ever received.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Russell Westbrook would impact both the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards.
