The season never seems to end before June for the Golden State Warriors, but their season has ended early the last two years due to injuries plaguing their chances of being successful. From 2015-2019, the Warriors won three titles in five NBA Finals appearances, but their last appearance really took a toll on this team.

Not only did Kevin Durant tear his Achilles in the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors and then leave for the Brooklyn Nets the following offseason, but Klay Thompson tore his ACL in his left knee in the same series and missed the entire 2019-20 season. Then while he was rehabbing from his ACL injury last summer prior to the start of the 2020-21 season, Thompson tore his right Achilles, forcing him to miss his second consecutive season.

Klay being out has really hurt the Warriors, but less significant injuries have also really hurt this team’s chances of being special over the years. Steph and Draymond have both dealt with injuries that kept them out over the last two seasons, as have key guys like Kevon Looney, Eric Paschall and even rookie center James Wiseman this past season.

Entering the offseason, Golden State is not only hoping they can remain healthy for once, but they are hoping to make some big moves to get them back to the NBA Finals. Curry, Thompson, Green, Wiggins and Wiseman all being healthy and on the court together makes the Warriors a formidable force in the Western Conference, but it still seems like they are one key factor away from winning multiple championships once again.

With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green not getting any younger, the Warriors championship window is closing slowly and their front-office needs to act rather quickly to try and secure more championships while they can. With the 7th and 14th overall picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, Golden State could continue to build on their core of young talents, but they could also look to pull off a blockbuster trade with these two picks. This will be something to monitor in NBA trade rumors, to say the least.

General manager Bob Myers is always looking for ways to add the best-of-the-best to this Warriors roster and he definitely still has a couple of tricks up his sleeve! Could the Warriors flip their two lottery picks to add a fourth All-Star talent to their roster this offseason? Let’s take a look at three trade scenarios that they could potentially look to pull off.
