Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
It will not be long before the Philadelphia 76ers decide to make Ben Simmons available, if they have not already. The benefit for Philadelphia is that the phone will be ringing often about Simmons. He still brings some great value but there is no coming back from what he did during the postseason for the Sixers.
It would be extremely entertaining to see Jimmy Butler reunite in Philadelphia. If the combination of Butler and Embiid can stay on the same page, on and off the court, they have a chance to be successful.
Butler has played in some big moments and put up some big-time performances. He is another perimeter threat that opposing defenses would have to worry about.
Butler can score the ball. He is an improved three-point shooter but thrives in the midrange and can get to the rim. This is what the Sixers are looking for and it would be an immediate upgrade from Simmons.

Philadelphia is a contender in the Eastern Conference and that is going to continue next season. If Butler is available and he can be sent to town in a deal involving Simmons, it seems like a win for Philly.
