Golden State Warriors

The Dallas Mavericks reportedly reached out to the Golden State Warriors before the NBA trade deadline about a deal centered around Kelly Oubre Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis. While Mark Cuban denied those rumors, things have not quieted down heading into the offseason.

If Golden State has any interest in acquiring Porzingis, they could reach out and try getting a deal done again. Oubre Jr. can be used again in a sign-and-trade, or the Warriors could try using Andrew Wiggins as the centerpiece to match salary.

The Warriors are interested in trading their lottery picks for established talent, but they may not deem Porzingis worth both picks.

But, if they could find some even ground on compensation, Porzingis would make for an intriguing addition to the team. Imagine what an offense with Porzingis as the third option behind Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson could look like. Teams would struggle to contain all three of them from raining down 3-pointers.

The Warriors are also one team that can handle Porzingis playing power forward. Draymond Green, the ultimate swiss army knife on defense. They could also use jumbo lineups with James Wiseman and Porzingis if he is not included in a deal to further upgrade the roster with more established veterans.
