Denver Nuggets Receive: F Jimmy Butler
Miami Heat Receive: F Michael Porter Jr., G Monte Morris, No. 26 pick, 2024 first-round pick, 2026 first-round pick
Jimmy Butler going to the Denver Nuggets would be a blockbuster this offseason. He knows a thing or two about being moved in his career and it would be surprising to see that happen here.
The Heat have made it seem like they will build around Butler but things could change after a disappointing season. He is soon due for a massive contract extension and when considering he is already going to be 32-years-old by the start of the 2021-22 season, that should be reason for some pause.
It’s justifiable to proclaim the Heat as being in need of a reset. The team is going to have to pay big money to retain its role players on a team that couldn’t even avoid being swept in the first-round of the NBA playoffs. That’s a concerning outlook for any organization.
The return would not be cheap so the Nuggets would have to think long and hard. It would begin with Michael Porter Jr. and Monte Morris. Three first-round picks would also be included. This is quite the haul that Miami could ask for.

There would be a hole at the point guard position for the Nuggets by including Morris in this particular NBA trade scenario. The team would need to pursue a veteran option who would look to capitalize on a large role until Jamal Murray were to return to the lineup.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Jimmy Butler would impact both the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat.
