Worst Fit: Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets fell short of making the playoffs this season, but the fact they were a couple wins away in the play-in tournament from advancing to the postseason is a positive sign.

LaMelo Ball is the prized possession on the Hornets after winning the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award this season. Terry Rozier could be moved this summer if the team believes Ball is ready for more responsibilities at point guard next season.

But amid Gordon Hayward’s injury woes this season, the Hornets discovered a lot about Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington. Both Bridges and Washington made the most of their increased opportunities.

Seeing that Bridges and Washington were both lottery picks in recent years, the Hornets may want to give them time to develop further in 2021-22.

Provided that, trading for Harrison Barnes wouldn’t make much sense, even though he’d bring leadership to the locker room. The Hornets would be best addressing the center position instead of making a move for Barnes.
