Bad Fit: Houston Rockets

Instead of moving Harrison Barnes to a team looking to compete for a title, the Kings could offload him as a salary dump to a team that can afford his contract.

While he’s being wasted away in Sacramento, Barnes would also have his talents wasted on the Houston Rockets. The Rockets, similar to the Kings, are amid a full rebuild following the trade of James Harden this season.

But for the Rockets, they have a few young forwards that the team wants to give minutes to in Jae’Sean Tate, Anthony Lamb, and Kenyon Martin Jr.

Plus, the Rockets have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and they could end up with another forward that needs minutes.

Given all of that information, hopefully Barnes doesn’t end up being traded to the Rockets in the coming weeks.
