Best Fit: Dallas Mavericks

Back in the 2018-19 season, ahead of the NBA trade deadline, the Dallas Mavericks traded Harrison Barnes to the Kings. What made the situation different from other trades is that Barnes was sitting on the bench for Dallas during a game when the trade occurred.

While it would definitely present some awkward exchanges, getting Barnes back from Sacramento would be a decent move for the Mavericks this offseason.

The Kristaps Porzingis experiment failed and the Mavericks needs to surround Luka Doncic with more shooting. Even with Tim Hardaway Jr possibly returning in free agency and Dorian Finney-Smith showing improvements as a shooter, Barnes would be perfect for the Mavericks.

The 29-year-old’s ability to play either forward spot would be a nice addition in Jason Kidd’s first year as head coach of the franchise.

Of course, the team would need to do more than just trade for Harrison Barnes to appease Doncic ahead of his impending extension.
