Dejounte Murray
Out of all the players on this list, Dejounte Murray would arguably be the best fit. The San Antonio Spurs are reportedly open to moving him this offseason and if that proves to be true, Dallas should get involved.
Murray is only 24-years old, so he would fit the timeline along with franchise cornerstone, Luka Doncic. He has improved every season he has played, averaging career-highs across the board with 15.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists. He also added 1.5 steals per game in the season and averages only 1.6 turnovers per game in his career.
While his 3-point shooting has been sporadic, there is hope he can figure it out as he has two seasons at 36.9 percent or better and two at 31.7 percent or worse. His 75.8 percent from the foul line gives hope he can become a more consistent shooter.
But, it is not his offense that makes him a great fit, it is his defense. The Dallas Mavericks need someone, anyone, that can play defense. Having it as a guard will take pressure off of Doncic, who is regularly tasked with defending the other team’s best perimeter player.

If the Spurs have any interest in bringing Kristaps Porzingis on to fill the holes in their frontcourt, where they have multiple free agents, Dallas should do everything in their power to make sure Murray is in the return package.
