Best Fit: Dallas Mavericks

The experiment of Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t exactly panned out for the Dallas Mavericks and it seems inevitable that he’ll be traded this summer.

Upon Porzingis’ expected parting, the Mavericks need to find Luka Doncic a new running mate. With Dallas experiencing some surprising changes this offseason, the main focus should be to make sure that Doncic is content with the direction of the franchise.

Landing Pascal Siakam in a trade would be a stellar start toward doing just that. Siakam would take Porzingis’ spot in the lineup and the Mavericks would hope he can perform better in a similar role.

While Siakam isn’t going to protect the rim like Porzingis did at times, he makes up for it in other areas.

The 27-year-old forward could help Dallas induce more spacing around Doncic and it would give them a much-needed ball handler that can ease pressure off of Doncic’s shoulders.

Acquiring Siakam and adding another star player would be enough to make the Mavericks a team to watch out for next season.
