Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: F/C Jonathan Isaac, No. 33 pick
Orlando Magic Receive: G Malik Beasley and F Jaden McDaniels
Malik Beasley had a strong offensive season and put some value on his name. He would be one of the players going back to Orlando, along with Jaden McDaniels. Orlando has some intriguing players they will be able to send back to Minnesota.
Jonathan Isaac has not been able to assert himself as a member of the Magic. He could benefit from a change of scenery and the Magic could look to take advantage of what he is worth. Minnesota would get Isaac and the 33rd pick in this year’s draft in the trade.
The Timberwolves have been linked heavily to Ben Simmons in NBA trade rumors and have even been described as being ‘seriously’ interested in getting a deal done. While they could. make an aggressive push to pursue him, looking at more realistic options would be wise.
A key reason for appeal behind the idea of acquiring Simmons is his defensive versatility. Jonathan Isaac isn’t quite the perimeter defender of Simmons, but offers legitimate ability to handle switches at a high-level while having the tools to protect the rim.
