Does this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?
Minnesota needs to determine which players are part of the future and which are not. If Beasley is not viewed as a long-term piece, it would make sense to send him away in a deal. There will not be any more value around him and there is right now so this could be the time.
The Timberwolves are one of the bottom teams in the Western Conference over the last half decade. Despite Towns turning into one of the best big men in the league, they have been unable to build around him.
Jonathan Isaac could be one of the players that helps take them to that next level. He entered the league with great potential but has not been able to reach that due to injuries.
Minnesota could put him in a better situation with some other strong players.

This is not to say that this is the move that will take Minnesota where they want to be but it would help them right away. The Western Conference is difficult so it will be sometime before Minnesota is ready to compete.
