Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
The Houston Rockets want to trade Eric Gordon this offseason, which is why they should be thrilled to trade him for a guy like Kyle Kuzma. Not only do they get a young forward to build with during their rebuild process, but the Rockets get a guy in Kuzma who can immediately become a young leader for their team.
He brings championship experience with him and Kuzma plays with a certain level of “swagger” to his game, which could resonate with some of the more passionate players like Kevin Porter Jr. on this Rockets roster.
Not to mention, Houston does have a need for a guy like Kuzma who can play either the small-forward or power-forward positions.
Trading Eric Gordon for a draft pick is probably what the Rockets are looking to do, but getting an established, relatively young player in Kyle Kuzma makes just as much sense for them. He can contribute for them immediately and Kuzma also is owed $19.7M less over the next three years.
