Golden State Warriors Receive: Brandon Ingram
New Orleans Pelicans Receive: Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, No. 7 Pick in 2021 NBA Draft, 2022 First-Round Draft Pick

In this deal, the Warriors get Ingram but it does not come cheap, nor should it. Ingram is going to be 24 when the 2021-22 season begins, already made an All-Star team and is an excellent two-way player. Players with those credentials are going to be costly to acquire.

For New Orleans, this package gives them a chance to fully reset around Zion Williamson. Stories emerged this year that his family doesn’t want him in New Orleans and that he was reportedly unhappy with how the team treated J.J. Redick during trade negotiations. Nipping that in the bud and building a positive relationship with Williamson should be priority No. 1 in The Big Easy.

Andrew Wiggins has immense talent but doesn’t always show it. He made strides with the Warriors and at only 26-years old could make more. The Pelicans would have two seasons to evaluate him as a fit alongside Williamson before his contract ends.

James Wiseman is the crown jewel of this trade package as the No. 2 overall pick from 2020 has immense potential. He could form a dynamic frontcourt duo alongside Williamson for years to come.

The draft picks give New Orleans even more maneuverability. They would have two top-10 picks this season, giving them some ammunition to move up the draft if they can find a dance partner. After trading away Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday, New Orleans would have draft capital rivaled only by the Oklahoma City Thunder to start making power moves.
