Does this trade make sense for the Cleveland Cavaliers?
This trade could possibly make sense for the Cavaliers, but again, it really depends on what the market for Collin Sexton is right now. There have been some rumors tied to them and the Philadelphia 76ers involving Ben Simmons, so they could potentially look to leverage Sexton in this trade package instead.
Who knows if this is even a valid trade proposal, but it is definitely something to think about from a value perspective with Collin Sexton. If the Cavs are to open up trade discussions around Sexton, then they will need to ensure they are getting the value they want because he is their best player.
Trading away Collin Sexton could really be detrimental to the Cavaliers and set them back even further in their rebuilding process. They are not close to being a playoff team yet, which is why adding these two extra first-round picks this year could make sense, but at the same time, they could potentially trade Sexton for an All-Star-level player.
There is a lot of unknown right now within the Cavaliers organization and a lot of their questions will be answered on draft night this year. Whoever they draft with the 3rd overall pick will likely be their face of the franchise moving forward, which could result in other guys on the Cavs’ roster facing a new future. Drafting Evan Mobley could mean that Jarrett Allen could be on the move and drafting Jalen Green could mean that Collin Sexton will be traded.

It is too early to speculate what the Cavaliers have planned, which is why they should probably hold off on making any significant roster changes just yet. This is definitely a solid trade proposal for the Cavaliers involving Sexton, but until they make this 3rd overall pick, there really is no reason for them to rush anything.
