Warriors can get a lot more for the assets they have
Entering the offseason, the Golden State Warriors are in a prime position to acquire a star player to pair with their All-Star trio.
Besides James Wiseman and Andrew Wiggins as potential trade pieces, Golden State has two first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft that could entice teams.
Given that Wiseman was a first-round pick from just a season ago, he could be worth quite a lot on the trade market. And with Wiggins showing improvement in his game with the Warriors — plus the fact that he’s still 26 years old — he could be player that teams desire in a trade.
Altogether, what I’m trying to say is that Gordon Hayward isn’t worth any of Golden State’s best assets, especially since they should be able to land one of the more notable names via trade.

Choosing to select Wiseman in last year’s trade or trade for Wiggins by moving on from D’Angelo Russell just to make a move for Hayward would be a massive mistake.
