Dallas Mavericks

There has been a ton of drama happening in Dallas, with Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle electing to step away from the franchise. Both of them were crucial in helping the Mavericks win their lone title and now, Mark Cuban has to fill the large voids left behind by their departures.

There is now a renewed sense of optimism after the hirings of Jason Kidd and Nico Harrison. Now, they will need to get the job done surrounding Luka Doncic with talent and an intriguing way to do so would be with a Pascal Siakam trade.

The priority for the Mavericks should be to manufacture a roster to Doncic’s liking, convincing him to sign his max extension as soon as possible. Dallas could begin by trading Kristaps Porzingis this summer to create room for another star or two. After moving on from Porzingis, the Mavericks could hit a home run by getting Pascal Siakam from the Raptors.

Finding two-way wings in the NBA is extremely rare, especially guys that average 20+ points per game like Siakam has in the past two seasons. Similar to how other teams could use him, Siakam could play either forward spot for Dallas and be an upgrade over what they had this season.

A duo of Doncic and Siakam would be a decent start for a team that is under pressure to deliver a fantastic offseason in the coming months.
