1. New York Knicks
The Knicks’ biggest need this offseason is finding a new starting point guard. However, if their first-round series loss to the Atlanta Hawks showed them anything, it is that they need some more offense and Duncan Robinson would provide that.
Robinson is a high-volume shooter that would improve the Knicks’ spacing around RJ Barrett and Julius Randle. He attempted 8.5 3-point shots per game in the regular season, making 3.5 per game for an above-average percentage of 40.8.
While the Knicks were a great 3-point shooting team during the season, making 39.2 percent of their attempts, the volume wasn’t there as they were 21st in makes and 27th in attempts. For a team as efficient as they were, you’d like to see a few more attempts per game to maximize their offensive potential.
The defensive shortcomings of Robinson are something that would drive head coach Tom Thibodeau up the wall, but he has said it is an area that he wants to improve upon this season. Also, Miami found a way to make it work, ranking seventh in the NBA in defensive rating despite him playing the third-most minutes on the team.

Thibodeau should be able to work his magic in a similar fashion. There are also rumors that Robinson has some fans in the Knicks’ front office. With a ton of cap space, the Knicks are certainly a threat to steal Robinson away from their old-time rivals.
