The 2021 NBA offseason is in full swing and it definitely would not be the offseason without talking about the Golden State Warriors! After making it to the NBA Finals for five consecutive years from 2015-2019, the Warriors have not only missed The Finals for back-to-back seasons, but they have failed to make the playoffs for two consecutive seasons.
Klay Thompson has not played in an NBA game since the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, which has definitely hurt the Warriors’ chances of being anything special, but they seem to be missing something.
The 2020-21 season was not a complete loss though for Golden State, as Stephen Curry had arguably the best season of his career, Draymond Green continued to be the unique point-forward that he is and we learned a lot about the young core of the Warriors.
Andrew Wiggins has the talent to really breakout in that “third key contributor” role next to Klay Thompson and Steph Curry, James Wiseman possesses All-Star potential and guys like Jordan Poole, Damion Lee and even Juan Toscano-Anderson looking like key contributors in the Warriors’ second-unit moving forward.

Overall, Golden State is in a good position as a franchise, but Curry, Thompson and Green are not getting any younger and this organization’s championship window may have already begun to close. That’s why the team is one to watch in NBA trade rumors.

Signing another superstar player may not be possible seeing as Golden State is already $55.48M over the salary cap this offseason, but pulling off one of the biggest trades in NBA history is a very real possibility. Damian Lillard could be available for the right price this offseason due to his frustrations in Portland mounting and the Warriors actually have the assets to put together some enticing trade scenarios.

Both Curry and Lillard played together on Team LeBron during the 2021 NBA All-Star Game and they both said they had a lot of fun playing with one another, so could they actually look to create one of the most unstoppable duos in NBA history?
Here are three trade packages the Warriors could propose to the Portland Trail Blazers in attempts to acquire Damian Lillard, thus keeping the Warriors relevant in the NBA and chasing more championships over the next several years.
