Youthfulness, room to grow

Philadelphia 76ers fans are tired of hearing this, but it is a legitimate reason to hold onto Ben Simmons. He is, by every standard, a young player in this league. He won’t turn 25 until later in July and still only has four seasons of NBA experience.

That means time is on his and the organization’s side, as their window for contention is still open pretty wide. While Philadelphia is in a win-now mode in some regards, they should be contending for years to come, as Joel Embiid is only 27 as well.

Hopefully, the stubbornness that Simmons has exhibited begins to go away this offseason.

Seeing himself plastered on every basketball program and social media should be motivation to get into the gym and work hard on improving his game.

Simmons won’t turn into a 3-point shooter overnight, but just getting his confidence built back up so that he is attacking the rim and attempting some short jumpers, as he did to begin his rookie season, would help the team immensely.
