Does this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?

If the New Orleans Pelicans are looking for some pieces around Williamson, this deal would do just that. This is a case where Ingram would be able to give the Pelicans more depth and explosiveness within the lineup. This will be done in the form of draft picks and starting-caliber players.

VanVleet would take over at the top of the offense for the Pelicans. This is the most important position in today’s NBA and VanVleet has turned into a leader. The duo of VanVleet and Williamson would be difficult to defend.

In addition to VanVleet, the No. 4 pick in the upcoming draft would help New Orleans land an elite prospect. The Pelicans would have a chance to land either Jalen Green or Jalen Suggs.

If Suggs were the pick, VanVleet would move to the shooting-guard position and let the rookie come in. This is a chance to completely reshape the look of the roster in New Orleans.

New Orleans is looking to take a step toward the postseason and this is a trade that can do that. If this is the return, it seems as though the Pelicans would win the trade on paper.
