Toronto Raptors Receive: F Brandon Ingram
New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G Fred VanVleet, G/F Rodney Hood, No. 4 pick and No. 46 pick
The New Orleans Pelicans must act swiftly if they are to make changes to the supporting cast around Zion Williamson before he ends up being the next superstar to want to move on elsewhere. An intriguing way to get a few helpful players could be to trade Brandon Ingram.
In this particular NBA trade scenario, Ingram would join Pascal Siakam in Toronto as a member of the Raptors. Well, assuming they don’t end up having to play the 2021-22 season in Tampa Bay as they did last year!
In return, Fred VanVleet would take over the point-guard position for the Pelicans. This is something that they have been desperately trying to improve. They also get Rodney Hood and two picks in the upcoming draft, including the fourth-overall selection.
Something to take into consideration is that Ingram is set to earn roughly $29.5 million during the 2021-22 season and is signed through 2024-25. The Raptors would not need to worry about another star player potentially making a quick departure.

As for the Pelicans, having both the No. 4 and 10 selections in the 2021 NBA Draft could enable them to move up a spot or two in the order. If that would be the difference between landing the right piece with Zion Williamson long-term, it could go a long way.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Brandon Ingram would impact both the New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors.
