Boston Celtics Receive: C Myles Turner, 2021 second-round pick (via MIL) and 2022 second-round pick (via MIA)
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Marcus Smart, F Aaron Nesmith, G Carsen Edwards and 2023 first-round pick
When Ime Udoka was hired as the new head coach of the Boston Celtics, he was adamant about Marcus Smart being a key contributor on the team.
But what if Boston realizes that they can’t keep going with a small-ball roster against teams that can take advantage of their lack of size? Smart could probably net the Celtics a decent player, but Turner does fill certain needs that Boston has.
Besides the spacing he provides on offense, Turner would finally give the Celtics someone that can be a headache for teams on the defensive end. His ability to block shots and protect the paint is evident due to him leading the league in blocks twice, including this season with 3.4 blocks per game.
Nesmith would be included in the trade with Smart, along with Carsen Edwards. Smart would be a player that interests Indiana due to his feistiness and his improved scoring ability in recent years.

The versatility that Smart brings to the Pacers lineup would make Malcolm Brogdon expendable. Given how Brogdon has already appeared in NBA trade rumors, that could be an intriguing option for Indiana.
