Kyle Lowry

Prediction: Signs with Miami Heat

Once free agency begins, one of the most popular names to watch is going to be Kyle Lowry. Lowry has spent the past nine seasons with the Toronto Raptors, helping the organization win a title in 2019.

The Villanova product will always be revered by fans in Toronto as his contributions to the team’s championship won’t be forgotten. However, all signs point toward Lowry choosing to play for a new team next season.

Ahead of this year’s NBA trade deadline, Lowry was almost traded, but the Raptors decided to keep him for the rest of the season. Lowry is unquestionably going to have a massive market in free agency, with a handful of contending teams competing for his services.

The Philadelphia 76ers, the Miami Heat, the Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and others could look into signing the 35-year-old point guard. Of the teams listed, the Heat seem like the ideal fit for him as he’d get to play with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Even though the 76ers would likely want to bring Lowry home, the uncertainties surrounding Ben Simmons could cause Lowry to side with the Heat in NBA free agency. Plus, there is no income tax in Florida, making Miami a preferred destination for free agents.
