Evan Fournier

Prediction: Re-signs with the Boston Celtics

During this season, the Boston Celtics chose to make a move for Evan Fournier at the NBA trade deadline. The Celtics only had to give up two second-round picks and Jeff Teague to get a trade completed for Fournier.

Fournier would become a go-to scorer for Boston down the final stretch of the season as the team dealt with a myriad of injuries. Throughout his 16 regular-season contests with the Celtics, Fournier recorded 13 points and 3.1 assists on 46.3 percent shooting from behind the three-point line.

While Fournier isn’t an All-Star caliber player, who would the Celtics replace him with if he were to sign elsewhere in free agency?

Boston addressed the center position in the Kemba Walker trade, landing them Al Horford and Moses Brown from the Oklahoma City Thunder. That being said, the team needs to improve the shooting on the roster around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Unless the Celtics can find someone cheaper that can do the things that Fournier does, then I envision them retaining the experienced wing early in free agency.
