Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
The Washington Wizards made a blockbuster deal involving a point guard prior to the regular season. This is a chance to make another one and to keep improving at the position. There is no doubt that Damian Lillard is one of the best players in the league and will continue to be for upcoming years. This is what Washington could be looking for.
The Wizards saw that they could compete for a postseason spot in the Eastern Conference with a strong point guard. It was a top-heavy conference this season and teams near the bottom were fighting all year for positioning. That is going to continue next season.
If Lillard and Beal make up a backcourt, that seems like a playoff team on paper. The Wizards would have to make a few more moves to put the right players around them but Lillard has shown that he can lead a team.
Lillard has been the leader of the Trail Blazers for years in a Western Conference that is far superior. Teaming up with Beal would only open Lillard up even more.

This is a true superstar duo to rely on moving forward. Washington would be a preseason playoff team if they are able to pull off a blockbuster such as this. They sold Wall for Westbrook last year and could flip Westbrook for Lillard this year.
