Washington Wizards Receive: G Damian Lillard
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: G Russell Westbrook, F Deni Avdija, 2021 first-round pick, and 2025 first-round pick
Damian Lillard would be on his way to a rebuilding team here. This might not be the best-case scenario but there is no doubt that he would make that team better immediately.
If Lillard is brought in, the front office would have to keep Bradley Beal around so they can have two stars on the roster. It would not be cheap but the Wizards have some assets but it would be a last ditch effort to convince him they are serious about winning it all.
Westbrook would be the centerpiece of the deal going back to Portland. He would be the immediate replacement for Lillard at the top of the offense for the Trail Blazers.
The Trail Blazers would also get Deni Avdija and two first-round picks, including one in this year’s draft. It wouldn’t be a ton of value outside of Westbrook but it would still be a few assets that could help them to re-tool in a needed way.
