New York Knicks Receive: G Russell Westbrook and 2024 first-round pick
Washington Wizards Receive: F/C Julius Randle, F Kevin Knox, F Obi Toppin, and 2021 first-round pick
It’s no secret that the New York Knicks want to be active this offseason in putting together a star-studded team. In Tom Thibodeau’s first season at the helm, the Knicks were able to secure the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference being led by Julius Randle and RJ Barrett.
But in the playoffs, Randle showed New York that he likely isn’t someone you want to build around as your go-to guy. Despite winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award, Randle would be sent to the Wizards in a Westbrook trade.
The Knicks would also send Obi Toppin and Kevin Knox, along with their first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, to complete the deal. Sending Randle, Toppin, and Knox would be worth the chance to add a player of Westbrook’s caliber to the roster.

Westbrook could possibly entice other stars to sign with the Knicks, and a back court with Westbrook and Barrett would be a formidable duo. Could you imagine the level of excitement there would be in the Big Apple if Westbrook was playing at Madison Square Garden?
Spike Lee would certainly sign up to get a front-row look at Westbrook extending his triple-double record.
