Washington Wizards Receive: G Dennis Schroder (sign-and-trade), F Kyle Kuzma, F Alfonzo McKinnie, and 2021 first-round pick

There aren’t many contending teams that could offer up a package for Westbrook due to his salary or having to send a player they’d rather keep in exchange for the veteran point guard. But for the sake of fun, let’s create an off-the-wall trade involving the Los Angeles Lakers.

To make the money work and to avoid sacrificing too much of their depth, the Lakers could complete a sign-and-trade with Dennis Schroder. It would come down to whether or not Washington is content with making Schroder their point guard for the foreseeable future.

Besides Schroder, Kyle Kuzma would be at the forefront of the trade after signing a three-year extension last offseason. Kuzma could possibly thrive in a larger role elsewhere, as he had to play behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the Lakers.

Los Angeles would also toss in Alfonzo McKinnie and a first-round pick in this year’s draft to get the deal completed. It would be a sight to behold to watch the trio of Westbrook, James, and Davis on the court together.

There would be countless lobs happening for the Lakers, and maybe — just maybe — a player like James could help Westbrook improve his decision making when it comes to shooting the ball.
