Moving on from Kyle Lowry will be tough for the Raptors to do, but all good things must come to an end at some point. If they were able to move on from Lowry and add Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the offseason, then this would definitely be a win for them.

Gilgeous-Alexander has quickly become one of the premier, young guards in the league because of his length, athleticism and pure scoring abilities. Since joining Oklahoma City in 2019, SGA has averaged 20.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and has shot 48.4% from the floor, making him one of the “next men up” in terms of breaking through and potentially making an All-Star roster.

The Thunder are definitely not too keen on the idea of trading him, especially since they are in the middle of a rebuilding process, but there is a ton of value that they can get from this trade. OG Anunoby is a  23-year-old, versatile forward they could utilize at various spots on the court and there are a lot of options for the Thunder to explore with yet another top draft pick.

Oklahoma City already owns the 6th, 16th and 18th picks in the first-round of the draft this year and if they were to add the 4th pick as well, they could not only continue to draft the best-of-the-best, but they could potentially look to pull off a massive draft night trade to acquire a superstar-like talent.

They could even keep the 4th and 6th picks in the draft and look to leverage the picks later on in the first-round for a solid role player or rotational guy. The options are endless for what the Thunder can look to do this offseason and this trade just gives them more to play around with.

There is definitely value to be had in this trade for both sides, but is this something that truly makes sense for both the Raptors and Thunder based on the way their organizations are trending right now?
