Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
The Charlotte Hornets decided to go with the best player available in the 2020 NBA Draft despite having a backcourt featuring Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham. The move to pick LaMelo Ball seemed to pay off and this is where the front office could improve their prowess down low.
This offseason, the Hornets will not have a draft pick near the top, so this could be a scenario where a trade is possible. Charlotte would be able to hang onto Ball and Graham in this deal but would need to give up Rozier and Gordon Hayward to get it done.
Rudy Gobert was named the Defensive Player of the Year once again this season. He has been one of the best rim protectors in the league for years now and is a presence down low on both ends of the floor. The Hornets sorely need to improve in this end and are in dire need of a rim protector.
Gobert might be the centerpiece that is going to balance the lineup but Ingles cannot be put aside. He is a strong shooter with plenty of experience and could act as a leader on and off the floor. Ingles is a glue guy and one that could be beneficial to a young team like the Hornets.
