3. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are going to be in NBA rumors as targeting just about every single player available in free agency this offseason since they have so much cap space, but Spencer Dinwiddie actually is a real name that they could actually be targeting given their need for a point guard other than Derrick Rose.

The Knicks have been tied to guys like Kyle Lowry, Lonzo Ball, Dennis Schroder and even Chris Paul, but Spencer Dinwiddie would actually fit in quite well with the Knicks. He may not be known for being much of a factor defensively, but being 6’5” and lengthy,

Dinwiddie would easily be the starting point guard for the Knicks because of what he can do offensively. It was not a coincidence that he averaged 20.6 points per game and shot 41.5% from the floor when he was “the guy” in Brooklyn during the 2019-20 season.

Spencer Dinwiddie is a real offensive threat that can also create plays for others, which is the kind of guard the Knicks need since they have Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett as their two focal points on offense.

Having a guard that can push the pace and also find ways to score himself when needed is extremely valuable in this league, which is what the Knicks will be looking to add in free agency. Derrick Rose was great for New York and they will likely look kto bring him back, but he is not the same D-Rose that he was with the Bulls back in the day.

Spencer Dinwiddie is not anything like MVP Derrick Rose either and is not the best point guard name available on the market, but he is a guy that you know what you are getting with him on both ends of the court. Consistency is something Tom Thibodeau loves in his players, which is why this could be a really strong “mutual” fit.
