The Brooklyn Nets have their Big 3 set with James Harden being acquired via trade from the Houston Rockets during this season, joining Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. The team exhausted a lot of their depth in that move, so they will have to get creative when filling out their roster this NBA offseason. One route they could take is trading Spencer Dinwiddie.
Dinwiddie played in only three games this season before injuring his ACL, but he could be a key player in the Nets’ plans this summer. His progression is reportedly going well, which could improve his market even more.

Dinwiddie was a name mentioned a lot when the NBA Trade Deadline was approaching. Despite being injured, there were teams reportedly interested in adding him so that they would have his Bird Rights if he opts out of his contract.
Some evaluators believe Dinwiddie could nail down a contract worth $15 million annually. Before his injury this season, he had emerged as a strong combo guard that could not only initiate the offense but fill it up scoring-wise as well.
In addition to the teams that will be able to clear cap space to sign him this offseason, the sign-and-trade market could open up more avenues for the Nets as well.
“I’m a big Dinwiddie fan,” said the personnel veteran. “He can be a really good third guard off the bench. And someone’s gonna get overpaid…”

If that player to be overpaid is Spencer Dinwiddie, we already know some teams that could be in the running. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic have all shown interest in him.
For a player who is entering the offseason coming off of injury, that is a robust market. Expect that market to grow even more once teams have their salary cap more situated once the offseason gets going.
