Cleveland Cavaliers

It is a long-shot to believe that the Cleveland Cavaliers will be big spenders and “buyers” this offseason, but this is a team that needs to be on the hunt for more talent.

The Cavaliers really like what they have in Jarrett Allen at center and with him being a free agent, their focus will be on re-signing him, but going after a Buddy Hield trade afterwards and adding him on the wing could be a great move for this franchise.

Cleveland ranked dead-last in the league this year in three-point shooting, only shooting 33.6% from three-point land as a team, and they really do not have someone they can feel comfortable with just sitting out on the perimeter. The Cavaliers’ point guard Darius Garland is probably their best three-point shooting threat with Kevin Love not far behind him, but who knows what the future holds for both of these guys.

Financially, the Cavaliers are tied down because of Love’s major contract, but maybe they could actually move on from him in a trade for Buddy Hield. If Cleveland was to include 1-2 first-round picks, some guys like Dylan Windler and Dean Wade, as well as Kevin Love, I truly believe that Sacramento may be willing to trade Buddy Hield to them.

Finding a trade suitor for Kevin Love is going to be extremely hard for the Cavaliers to do, but if there’s one team who would be willing to take on his contract and potentially utilize him, it would be the Sacramento Kings.

Now, a lot of this would depend on if they are able to bring back Richaun Holmes this offseason, but if he signs elsewhere in NBA free agency, the Kings could view bringing in Love as a short-term replacement.

As for a Buddy Hield trade for the Cavaliers, he is exactly the kind of player the Cavaliers should be looking to pair with Collin Sexton and Darius Garland. They have no three-point shooting threats right now and Hield is one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the league, which is why the Cleveland Cavaliers would be smart to target Buddy Hield this offseason.
