Houston Rockets

If there is one team that can attempt to intrigue the Pistons out of the No. 1 spot, it is the team with the worst record in the league. The Houston Rockets were big sellers this season and that caused them to finish at the bottom of the standings.

The Rockets currently hold the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and much more. Houston traded Russell Westbrook and James Harden this season. It is no surprise why they were as poor as they were. The new-look front office has a clear plan and it is time for them to put it into motion.

The Rockets currently hold three first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft. They have the second pick and then two back-to-back picks out of the lottery.

Houston has plenty of draft capital and some players they would be able to send away. Eric Gordon has been in NBA trade rumors all year and it is unlikely that John Wall will be around long term. Most intriguing of all perhaps could be Christian Wood.

The Rockets just missed out on the first-overall pick but they could still have their eyes on it. If they do, it will be interesting to see the package that is put together to send Detroit. Not losing their pick to the OKC Thunder was a huge start, a trade package to No. 1 could accelerate things.
