Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been adding assets for quite some time now. Sam Presti has built draft capital and young talent into the organization and here is where it could come in handy. The Thunder have three first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft and they could use it to move up in the draft.

The Thunder were led to the postseason a year ago by Chris Paul. He was traded to the Phoenix Suns but it showed the front office that the team could compete with a star at the top of the offense. Cade Cunningham is expected to be that kind of player.

Cunningham is one of the highest-rated players in recent years and it is worth moving up for. Already with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the fold, the Thunder would have a dynamic one-two punch in the backcourt that could give the rest of the NBA real problems for years.

A team like the Thunder that has plenty of assets could be looking to switch spots with Detroit. The Thunder would pull off a blockbuster like this if they are able to put together the right package. With how many assets Oklahoma City has, they will be a team to watch in NBA trade rumors.

Presti would have to part ways with draft capital but that is why you build it up to this point. It will be interesting to see if he decides to execute his plan here or continue to build it up moving forward.
