Does this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?
The New Orleans Pelicans might have to split up their dynamic duo if they want to become a more balanced team. Brandon Ingram is the name that would be sent away as Zion Williamson has quickly become an All-Star in the league. They would get back some interesting pieces they could put around Williamson moving forward.

Danilo Gallinari is a short-term option for the Pelicans because of his age but he is showing that he has plenty left in the tank. The attractive pieces would be De’Andre Hunter and Onyeka Okongwu. These are role players that could be thrown into the rotation and play alongside Williamson.
A first-round pick never hurts either for a rebuilding team like New Orleans. The Pelicans would be able to get rid of Ingram’s contract and open up that room for when Williamson needs to be signed. This would not be the end of necessary moves for the Pelicans but it is certainly a start.
With current reports coming out of New Orleans, it will be interesting to see how the organization handles the situation. The Pelicans need to make some big moves to compete and this could be one of the biggest. A trade centered around Brandon Ingram could be atop the list.
