The Atlanta Hawks were aggressive last offseason and it currently has them one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. They put some pieces around Trae Young and John Collins that seem to be working out. Once this whole NBA season is complete, we could see Atlanta continue to be aggressive and pursuit of star players.

The Hawks ran through the Knicks in five games and are currently one game away from the semi finals against the Philadelphia 76ers. Young is showing that he can get it done on the biggest stage and is quickly turning into a star.

John Collins will be an offseason priority as he has not signed a contract extension just yet. There is plenty on the table for the Hawks but they could also pursue a trade for a big-name player, if one presents itself.

This is where the New Orleans Pelicans could come into play. Recent reports have said that family members of Zion Williamson are unhappy with his current situation with the Pelicans. The front office has not put strong enough pieces around him which is why this team keeps missing out on the postseason.

A duo of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram should be good enough to get a team to the playoffs but there is some overlap there. Ingram’s game is predicated on getting downhill even with his improved perimeter shooting, and Williamson is highly interior-oriented in his own right.

If the Pelicans want to get some solid pieces around Zion Williamson in a trade, they could look to move the other half of their duo. Let’s take a look at what an NBA trade scenario centered around Brandon Ingram would look like involving the Atlanta Hawks.
