Derrick Rose
Entering the offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers are faced with the decision on whether or not they should retain Dennis Schroder. Los Angeles acquired Schroder in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder last offseason. Dennis Schroder was expected to give the Lakers a third scoring option on offense, along with someone who could handle the ball outside of LeBron James.

While Dennis Schroder had a solid regular season, he disappeared at times in the playoffs. Also, Schroder is seeking a contract that nets him $20+ million annually, which could make him pricier than Los Angeles would prefer to pay him. With the Lakers searching for a spark in their back court, look no further than Derrick Rose.
Of course, Los Angeles should be looking to add a premier option at one — or both — of their guard spots this offseason. But if they are unable to land one of the marquee names, Derrick Rose is a nice contingency plan, and he’s likely a more reasonable addition for a team that doesn’t have a ton of cap space or draft capital.
If Derrick Rose can continue to be an efficient scorer like he has in recent seasons, he would be a welcomed addition to the Lakers.
