Does the trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
The time is ticking for the Wizards to make enough moves to convince Beal to stay as the franchise cornerstone for the long haul. Beal has been patient with the organization thus far, and he continues to show his commitment to turning things around in Washington. But his patience could wear thin if the Wizards have another offseason where not enough moves are made to put together a contending roster.

While Bradley Beal has Russell Westbrook as his running mate, Washington needs a third option on the floor to make noise in the Eastern Conference. Grant would make sense as a versatile forward for the Wizards, allowing Washington to have options with Grant and Rui Hachimura.
The ideal lineup would likely move Grant to the small forward position while allowing Hachimura to continue improving at power forward. Landing Grant would drastically improve the spacing in Washington’s offense, especially with him becoming a much-improved three-point shooter in recent seasons.
In his last three seasons, Grant has nailed 35 percent or more of his three-point attempts, even with him shooting a career-high 6.1 three-pointers per game this season. A starting lineup of Westbrook, Beal, Grant, Hachimura, and someone like Gafford could be a formidable group in the Eastern Conference.
