3 teams who could look to target Jerami Grant in the offseason

While the Detroit Pistons currently hold the worst record in the Eastern Conference and will not make the playoffs this year, their future as an organization is extremely bright not only because of their young talents, but because of the gem they found in NBA free agency in Jerami Grant.

The Pistons signed Grant to a three-year, $60M contract in the offseason and not only did they strike gold by signing him, but they may have found their leader of the franchise moving forward.

In 50 games this season with Detroit, Jerami Grant has averaged 22.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and has shot 42.8% from the floor, 35.4% from three-point range. Now having a chance to prove himself as the leader of his team, Jerami Grant has turned himself into one of the breakout stars of this season.

The Pistons love what they have in Grant and are excited about the direction he can take the franchise moving forward, but would they dare entertain the idea of trading him in the offseason? It is highly unlikely, but there are plenty of teams that will likely inquire about the availability of the 27-year-old forward. If a team is willing to make an offer that Detroit can’t refuse, it will be something to monitor in NBA trade rumors.
