San Antonio Spurs

This is the one team on this list that might miss out on Barnes, unless they decide to move up in the NBA Draft. The Spurs fought for a postseason berth all year long. They ended up missing the postseason for the second year in a row. If Barnes is a top-10 pick, San Antonio will not have a chance to land him.

If they somehow find a way, the Spurs would welcome Barnes with open arms. San Antonio will be going in a different direction next season.

DeMar DeRozan will have left in free agency. He was not traded at the deadline and that was expected. The Spurs decided to hang onto him. LaMarcus Aldridge agreed to a buyout with the team and was forced to retire after signing with the Brooklyn Nets. The Spurs have Dejounte Murray and Keldon Johnson in the back-court to rely on.

Barnes would give them versatility in the front-court, along with Jakob Poeltl. Gregg Popovich is one of the top coaches in the league, so there are few better to learn from.

The Spurs have been one of the most successful franchises over the last two decades. Barnes would be stepping into a great situation with a team that knows how to win. He could be a part of the core that brings them back to the postseason.
