Whoever wins the first-quarter of Portland-Denver wins the game

Denver versus Portland has been a great first-round series so far in the playoffs, but the one main factor that has decided all of these games so far has been the first-quarter of play. Whoever has won the first-quarter in all of the games of this series so far has gone on to win the game, which is not by coincidence.

Both the Nuggets and the Blazers are two highly skilled offensive teams, as they both finished inside the Top-7 in offensive rating during the regular season, which is why getting off to a fast start in this series is key for both teams.

Given how highly skilled both offenses are in terms of outside shooting and getting the ball inside the paint, every single game of this series has gone over 210 points and at least one team has scored 30+ points in 10 of the 16 quarters played in this series so far.

The first-quarter has proven to be key in this series and should be something to keep an eye on in Game 5. If this theory proves true once again, then this will be the key for both teams in this series.
