The quickly approaching 2021 NBA offseason is going to be loaded with ground breaking headlines, and there appears to be an intriguing scenario where the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat could benefit from engaging in a trade together.

The Miami Heat were last season’s runner-ups in the NBA Finals but they came up short this go around. The Milwaukee Bucks put together a dominant series and ended up getting the first-round sweep. As they enter the offseason, there is a need for change to emerge as a real threat while Jimmy Butler is still around.

Charlotte was bitten by the injury bug after temporarily taking the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings at one point. While they ended up flaming out in the NBA play-in tournament, the arrival of LaMelo Ball has sparked plenty of reason for optimism for the team going forward.

Both of these teams have very talented rosters, and a trade between the two squads could make a lot of sense. The Heat and Hornets will both be looking to beef up their rosters to stay in contention long beyond this season and an offseason trade could allow that to happen.

Tyler Herro was tossed around in some NBA trade rumors this season, but no deal ever came to fruition. Instead of being willing to put him in trade discussions for a talent like James Harden, the Heat allowed the Brooklyn Nets to form a superteam. That seemed like a terrible choice at the time and Herro’s play since has only furthered that notion.

Let’s take a look at what an NBA offseason trade scenario featuring the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets centered around Tyler Herro could look like.
