Does this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

Unless they are getting numerous first-round picks in return, the Timberwolves should be content to keep the current core that they have and build with them. Over the years, Minnesota has been quick to give up on some of their talents, which has started them over in their rebuilding process every single time.

This happened with Zach LaVine, this happened with Jimmy Butler and now, the same could happen if they look to tear down what they have built yet again! Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell are going to be a great duo together if they can remain healthy and with Malik Beasley and Anthony Edwards being the supporting cast, there is no reason why Minnesota cannot start winning games and be competitive.

Offensively, they should be great next year and while they may struggle defensively, they can search for some veetran players to help them in that area of the floor. In time, this team is going to be really good together which is why the Timberwolves should not look to shake up their roster in the offseason.

Plus, they really do not have anything to gain from this trade. They could add more young players with the two second-round picks they would get, but quite honestly, Josh Jackson would not fit in well next to Anthony Edwards on the wing and both McGruder and Doumbouya would not really work their way into Minnesota’s rotations.

So basically, they would be trading away a high-level, young talent for Josh Jackson and two second-round picks, which does not seem like a logical thing for the Timberwolves to do at this time.
