Does this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?

Josh Jackson played really well for Detroit this year and has seemed to find his footing in the league once again after things did not work out with the Suns early on in his career, but will the Pistons actually be willing to move on from him in the offseason?

They should be if they are getting a guy like Malik Beasley in return. While he may not have All-Star potential, Malik Beasley is more than capable of being a third, high-value scoring option on a team, as demonstrated with the Timberwolves this past season.

Detroit has something going with Grant, Bey, Stewart, Plumlee and Hayes being their main core going forward and with the chance at getting the #1 pick this year, the Pistons should be more than willing to make this trade with Minnesota.

They would not really be giving up much draft compensation, as they would trade away two second-round picks this year, and quite honestly, none of the guys they are training besides Josh Jackson are really impactful.

Sekou Doumbouya has never developed into anything special over the years with Detroit and Rodney McGruder is just a bench player that saw spot minutes for the Pistons when he was healthy. Trading away these guys for an impactful young talent like Malik Beasley should be a no-brainer move for the Pistons if they can get the Timberwolves engaged in trade talks this offseason.
